“Alone” by Toby Lightman

Everybody needs someone to cling to
Everybody needs someone to call their own
No one wants a love that you can see through
No one wants to spend their whole life alone

Someday I know he will surely find me
Someday I will have a love to call my own
Then I’ll have someone to lay beside me
Then I’ll never have to spend my nights alone

Alone, isn’t where I want to be
I’ve got so much to give, we’re not supposed
to live alone
Isn’t how I think of me, I’m counting down the
days til I can put that word away

The world is full of people who are searching
and every heart is trying to find a home
Just like everything I think that I’m deserving
of a love that takes away the word alone

And I’m waiting in line
And I’ll wait like a bird on a wire
And I wonder if that day will ever come
When love walks in to finally take me higher
Then I’ll know my search for love is done

Merry Christmas!

I spent my first Christmas morning with children in over 10 years today. The kids (my godchildren) are twin boy 5 year olds and a 3 year old girl.

Man, I have been missing out!!!! LOL

Santa came and the reindeer nawed at the carrots, and he left a crap-load of presents in their stockings and under the tree.

They got hot wheels and bikes and barbies and dolls and transformers and Ben 10 toys and some other thing for boys that Aunt AJ has no clue what they are…

And they ended up at the kitchen table coloring.

That is all they wanted to do.

Of course. That old addage still applies: The box is SO way cooler than the present for kids and pets.

Merry Christmas Internets. I hope you got to your destination quickly, safely and not after spending 24 hours on an Amtrak train or sitting sleeping in a Midwest airport overnight for days on end. I hope you were able to spend time with people you love (or who love you) and that you ate WAAAAAAY too much amazing food.

I know I did.

The lifestyle change (AKA the bridesmaid dress diet) starts again Monday.

Jury Duty…

Well, my day was spent in a court room… waiting. I was called up for jury duty today. After picking up my group number (40) and eating breakfast, I was asked to grab my things and head out– one of the first 2 groups chosen for the day. I was so happy – I though I was gonna be done by 10:30a and have the rest of the day to myself.

Wishful thinking.

I was carted away on a bus that is usually saved to take inmates to trash-by-the-roadside day pickups to another courthouse… this time instead of the civil “whatever” cases I might get in the big downtown courthouse, I was in the domestic violence courthouse. Fun times.

We were seated in a coutroom and told if we were not picked today, we would be able to go home under the one day/one case rule.

And then we sat. All. Day. Long. They let us go to lunch, but when they finally called 14 people of the 40 -odd of us sitting there to be questioned I was ready to be D-O-N-E.

By the by, did I mention that cell phones and computers must be off all the time in the courtrooms. I about went nusts. NO TWITTER????? They must be mad.

To make a long story even longer, They only got through the first 14 people, and they did not keep them all.

SOOOO… that means I have to go back there tomorrow to see if I maybe will be on the jury.

Did I mention if I AM picked, I will totally miss my holiday party at work on Friday?!?

Fun times for me!!!

What the hell happened to ajlovestolose.com???

Sorry guys. I am obviously not the computer genius I make myself out to be… I tried to upgrade to the newest version of WordPress (2.7) late last week and yeah… EPIC FAIL. Obviously. I have been super busy with work and 5 year-old-twin boy’s birthday party that I was not able to sit down and work on fixing my EPIC mistake until tonight. I figured I had f’ed it up big time and that it would take HOURS to fix. Well, because of Slackermama and her AMAZING posts about Wordpress, I had it totally fixed in ONE CLICK. Yes, you heard it right folks, ONE CLICK. And I will be eternally grateful for her. Like name my first born child Slackermama.

So I am back!!! WHOO HOO!! I have been having major withdrawal (though I haven’t been posting lately…) why is it that you always want what you can’t have?

My life has been hella crazy busy… I have been:

  • working
  • holiday shopping
  • attending a twin birthday party
  •  cleaning up cat poop on the kitchen floor
  • NOT working out (bad)
  • going to WW meetings and learning about the new momentum plan (AJ Likes)
  • only gaining .8  in 8 weeks of NOT going to WW meetings
  • madly wrapping holiday gifts
  • madly making and wrapping work holiday gifts
  • getting, putting together and using the new Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum (love it!!!!!)
  • learning how to correctly spell vacuum (I always spell it VacCUm)
  • taking pictures of my FIRST.GIVEAWAY.EVER!!!!!!!!!! (more on that very soon)
  • playing Guitar Hero until 2am a couple nights because I can’t put the friggin guitar down
  • and finally, watching WAAAAAAY too much TV.

I will post the contest soon (like tonight). I am VERY EXCITED to be giving something away on my site!!!

Night!

What my beloved Mr. decided to do while I was sleeping last night…

Note the zipper portion had not bee ripped open… READ: Brand new package.

People this was the FAMILY SIZE bag of treats. He ate about 3/4 of the bag.

I spent the night laying garbage bags on the carpet to halt the kitteh drizzly stinky poo (sorry) from soaking in.

And wiping pudgy kitteh butt as he can’t reach.

EW.

He. Was. Miserable.

Me? I was gloating on the inside. Serves him right. He should know better. I still have no idea how he got to the treats. He can’t climb (too chubby) and they are kept up high. On a shelf. Away from his reach.

Oh, and guess who wanted treats again this afternoon?

Hell. To. The. No.

Yeaaaah! Contest!!!!

Have I mentioned how much I enjoyed meeting Roni in Chicago lately!?! Now she has an awesome giveaway!!
