I bought 30 Day Shred (you know the one, with Jillian Michaels- the one that everyone says kicks their a@@!) right before I left Chicago for Atlanta thinking I would have LOTS of time to workout and get all buff for my best friend’s wedding on May 30th.
Well, fast forward 1 month and I am 10lbs heavier and am kinda depressed and kinda crabby. OK, really crabby.
I joined the nice gym in the building, but realized the close at 9 – and sometimes a girl wants to workout later than 9, you know what I mean?
Get up in the morning and workout before going into the office you say? Yeah, you don’t know me very well. I barely make it by 9. Maybe a few weeks of getting up early might make a difference, but no. I like afternoon/evening working out.
Anyway, I came home after a long day of work (and driving around trying to find a office supply store that had a certain type of file folder and nope, didn’t find them) made dinner and started to veg out on the couch watching 2 of the 3 DVR’ed Medium’s I had saved.
That’s when I realized— I hadn’t worked out in the past 5 days. I have been crabby, pissy and a true b-i-tich. Work has sucked, I have been super stressed, and I have been eating “better” but not good.
Hmmmmmmmm…. wonder if there is a correlation???
I can’t be fun to be around at work. I just can’t. I am flabbergasted people actually still talk to me.
Anyway, I decided to get my flabby tummy up off the couch and try the 30 Day Shred.
Here are my first day thoughts:
- WOW.
- My abs are sore.
- My arms are sore.
- My whole body was soaked in sweat (sorry for that visual)
- I hated Jillian about 10 minutes in, then again at about 18 minutes.
- The ab work is my favorite. I get to lay on the ground.
- I wish there was a water break. Or two.
- My cheeks were SUPER bright red when I was done, even after a shower. I think that is a good thing…?
- I will do this tape again tomorrow. I actually want to do it.
- (We shall see how sore I am tomorrow… and how I feel about doing it again… but I will)
My Twitter/blogfriend, FB, told me about 30 Day Shred a while back and she had great updates on how she was feeling/doing during her 30 days. I can’t promise I will have the same here, but I will try. FB is a great blogging role model, I am so glad I found her blog!
If you don’t follow her blog, you should – she is fun. And follow her on Twitter too!
Look at me, pimping out other ladies blogs…

Oh, I did this in February, March, and part of April. I lost 10 lbs and some inches. Something must have been working right. I just started her “No More Trouble Zones” on Sunday. I couldn’t make it through everything. She is tough! I’m sure you will see a difference.
Like I said last night, give it two weeks and you’ll be in love with Jillian!
Thanks for the blog shout out! Feel free to pimp me anytime.
